Nestled in 75,000 acres of nature reserve, our Lodge sits on a rocky outcrop in the heart of the Madikwe Game Reserve, malaria free, in the northwest province of South Africa.

Cleverly nestled among Tamboti’s boulders and centuries-old trees, the private lodge is located in the middle of the Madikwe, offering visitors a huge safari advantage over other lodges located on the edge of the reserve and offering guests the most amazing South African safari adventure.

The Madikwe Game Reserve hosts not only the ‘Big 5’ of Africa (Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhinoceros and Leopard), but also a wealth of over 66 species of mammals, including the rare Wild Dog, as well as the cheetah, Eland, Kudu, Giraffes and a range of over 300 resident and migratory bird species.

Africa is not just any journey, Africa is an experience. Africa is the warm sun on the face, the wind, the dust on the skin. The adrenaline in looking into the eyes of a lion, a leopard, a rhino. The relaxation of living an experience out of the world, away from stress, thoughts. Sleeping under a ceiling of stars that seem to shine more than ever.

This is what you will experience on this journey. It will be a week where you will not have to think about anything. We will live an experience completely immersed in nature in South Africa, aboard an open Jeep, for the exclusive use of our group.

We will perform two safari activities a day, incredible sightings and small details of relaxation, such as breakfast and a suggestive aperitif at sunset in the bush. We are in a private reserve, which also means that we do not have any regulation restrictions. The safari activities will leave before dawn, with torches to allow us to experience the first magical lights of the day already in the bush, maybe already with some Big Five. The safari will continue until late morning, then return to the lodge where we will expect a great breakfast menu.

There will be a lunch at the table overlooking the bush and hundreds of animals right in front of our terrace. The day continues with an afternoon safari that will extend until after sunset, with a magical aperitif in the bush and a return to the lodge completely in the dark, under the incredible South African starry skies.

Return to the lodge, relax and then a dinner of typical South African dishes surrounded by the sounds of the bush at night.

A cozy living room with a huge fireplace lined with slate (perfect for curling up in front of a fireplace on cooler nights) leads to the quiet bedroom with a giant canopy bed sprinkled with pillows draped with generous layers of muslin, from where you can watch with amazement herds of wandering animals heading towards the pool of water, comfortably lying down.

Retire on a sun bed in the shade of an acacia tree, or take a towel and dive into your personal pool for the ultimate in relaxation: you will be amazed by the animals that pass about thirty meters from your patio.

Traditional and hearty English and continental breakfasts will be served on the main terrace.

In addition to the English breakfast, there will also be a selection of different dishes such as Eggs Benedict, Eggs Onassis, Breakfast Ciabatta, French Toast with Ham Cup, cranberry sauce and Camembert slices and a modern-style Omelette.

There will also be a full menu for the vegetarian breakfast.

Even lunches and dinners will be a culinary experience halfway between tradition and innovation. Our chef and team have maintained a careful balance between old and new and traditional African cuisine, but have stuck to the basics of simplicity, authenticity and freshness.

DAY 1 South Africa (May 27)

– Morning meeting at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and private transfer to Madikwe Reserve (about 3 hours)

– Arrival in the early afternoon, lunch in the hotel and departure for the first safari.

DAY 2,3,4,5,6 – Madikwe (28 May – 1 June)

 The classic day of safari includes this daily program:

5 A.M. –  Alarm clock

5.15-5.30 A.M. – Tea/coffee served at the Main Lodge

5.30 A.M. –  Departure for Morning Safari

8.00 – 8.30 A.M. –  Stop in the bush for a coffee/hot chocolate and some small snacks

9.30-10.00 AM – Return to the lodge and a la carte breakfast

13.00 – Lunch is served.

15.00 – Tea/coffee and small snacks served at the Main Lodge

15.30 – Departure for the afternoon Safari

17.45-18.00 – Stop in the bush for a suggestive evening aperitif

18.30 – Return to the lodge, relax before dinner.

20.00 – The bar is always open for a sparkling aperitif before dinner is served.

20.15 – Dinner under a starry sky with delicious dishes.

Safari schedules can be changed depending on sightings, weather and light conditions.

DAY 7 – Madikwe/Johannesburg (June 2)

– Wake up before dawn, coffee and departure for the classic morning safari.

– Stop in the bush, where we will get out of the car to enjoy a hot tea or coffee accompanied by typical snacks for a breakfast in the bush.

– Return to the lodge, breakfast with a choice of menu.

-Baggage preparation and departure with a private transfer to the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg where you can board your return flight (arrival around 15.00)
